WinPlay
Technical Specifications
WinPlay offers copy control and meter
counts via a laptop computer and RS485 converter with
auto monitor detection. This easy-to-use software allows
operators to maintain a data base of monitors and user numbers
and generate numerous reports. Multiple companies or
organizations may also be set up for facility management
administration.
Data collection is done by using a RS485 cable
that inserts into the copy control system like a phone cord. The
laptop will beep once when a monitor is identified and twice when done. If the laptop is sound card equipped, the computer
will say that communication has begun or ended.
WinPlay may be used in the following
configurations:
Copy Control & Meter Reading
- This configuration is most common, it allows the
end-user to download information from the R3 to the
laptop using the Atrix PC-Link cable. The information
included in this download is total copies per account
number and current copier counts. This allows for cost
per copy assessment per account number, department and
project. This configuration has a keypad included with
every monitor.
Meter Read Only - This
is not a common configuration, except in cases where the
customer wants to start off as meter reads only, then
later upgrade to copy control. The information is
retrieved the same as above. The information retrieved
will only include the meter reads, it will tell you how
many total copies were made on that copier only. This
configuration does not come with a keypad.
Additional WinPlay Highlights:
- Setup is available for account numbers,
groups or monitors.
- Auto detection of monitors with prompts
for automatically adding new units if not in data base.
- Numeric, Alpha/numeric, single level and
multiple level monitors may be mixed in the same system.
- Audio indication for data transfer--no
keystrokes or screen verification is needed.
- Reports and graphs may be run for the 3
levels of tracking: User, Department or Project. Reports
include Account Summary Report, Monitor Detail
Report, Account Detail account, Monitor Summary Report,
Meter Reads Report, Grouped Monitor Detail Report,
Grouped Account Detail Report, Grouped Account Summary
Report, Grouped Monitor Summary Report, and Grouped
Meter Reads Report. Standard graphs include Account
Copies, and Copier Utilization and may be
shown in bar or pie-chart form.

- Laptop (Pentium Celeron or better) is
recommended with Windows 2000 or later
- 512 megs of RAM
- 150 megs of free drive space
